Tendering and Carrier Management

Tendering and Carrier Management

Navigator allows for the tendering of shipments to carriers.  Current modes of transport that are supported, are rail, ocean, and truck (FTL and LTL).

Carrier Management

Tendering is based upon the contracts and routing guide provided by our clients.  Given the high level of shipment data found inside Navigator, it is possible to provide carrier metrics for each carrier.  These metrics would represent real world data from GPS units or integrations to provide an independent look at carrier KPIs including OTP/OTD, tender metrics, transit times and delays.

Ocean data includes rolls, delays, and carrier reliability metrics for carriers, and since it is linked to order data, these metrics can be presented by business group, commodity, or trade lane.

With emphasis on operational efficiency, Navigator has a highly customizable tendering method which ensures carriers will be able to utilize the system no matter their level of technological advancement.  Tendering to and from our system can be done via email, portals, FTP, API, or other EDI methods.  Our system also tenders in a manner so as to limit the time required to cover the load so coordinators are not waiting all day to find out if their freight for tomorrow is covered.

Tendering

Given the highly customizable system used, Navigator allows for client to designate timing between selected carriers, method of tender, freedom for coordinators to select carrier used (if desired), and/or auto-tendering to occur.  The system provides routing guide details so coordinators can make a cost-based decision, or have the system customized to force lowest cost alternative on each selection.  This, of course, tracks all forgone savings and requires reason codes to be entered for changes made to carrier priority.
